Pediatrics

Pediatrics of Neurodevelopment is a branch of pediatrics that deals with the development of children and young people, presupposing not only the monitoring of development, but also the diagnosis of their disorders and their intervention. Neurodevelopment of the child is defined as the set of competences through which the child interacts with the environment that surrounds him, in a dynamic perspective, according to his age, his degree of maturation, his intrinsic biological factors and the stimuli coming from the environment.
These competences include global motility, manipulation, sensory skills such as vision and hearing, communication and language, behaviors, nonverbal and verbal cognitive skills, affections and emotions. Developmental disorders include, but are not limited to:
 - motor deficiencies, such as cerebral palsy;
 - cognitive deficits;
 - sensory disturbances, such as deafness or blindness;
 - communication disorders, such as language-specific disturbance;
 - behavioral disorders, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder;
 - autism spectrum disorders;
 - disturbances of school learning, such as dyslexia.
